||(4 hrs/week) In this course, the student will learn about how preschool children grow and develop. This course will build on the information that you learned in Part 1 about infant and toddler development. You will continue to learn how to take a careful look at children and gather information about them. You will learn how to plan activities that meet the needs of preschool children. Many of the students will choose careers that involve working with preschool children. To be a good teacher and care provider for young children, it is critical that the student understands what children are able to do at different ages and stages. Everything that the student does do with young children is based on this information. This course will also give you the opportunity to combine your experiences at placement with the information being covered in class. Students will have the opportunity to discuss the field practicum manual, share curriculum experiences and discuss related field issues.
