Description

This course introduces RNs to the physiological and psychosocial theory and principles required to practice in a critical care setting. It also enhances the knowledge and skills of the RN who chooses work in the area of community nursing where the acuity of clients continues to increase. The concept of homeostasis will be addressed in depth. A variety of system-specific disorders will also be explored with a focus on a holistic approach to client care. Advanced IV skills will also be introduced; availability of virtual IV insertion technology will assist RNs to develop comfort with this skill.
