||This course covers the concepts, techniques, and evaluation criteria that a student will need to successfully assess an organizations reported financial information. Topics include financial statement literacy, ratio analysis, transaction analysis, and issues of concern to e-Commerce companies whose value may not be reflected in traditional financial reports. The analysis and recording of transactions is examined in the context of decisions facing the manager in an e-commerce environment. Some examples are the decision to outsource, or the decision to acquire intellectual property vs. in-house research and development activities. The final portion of the course teaches techniques to assess the financial feasibility of a proposed investment or new business activity. Differential costs and benefits are isolated, tax effects considered, and discounting techniques employed. Expected value calculations will be performed to provide for uncertainty in future cash flows.
