Description: The need to communicate over a long distance was the basic origins of the electronics field. The main function of a communication system is to transfer information from one point to another via a communication link. The primary objective in this course is to explore how the information signal is transmitted and received in AM, SSB, FM and TV communication systems. The emphasis throughout the course is on developing student’s facility to describe and analyze the various aspects of communication systems. The systems-to-circuits approach is used in this course and subsequent courses. The method of instruction is by lecture, problem solving and discussion complimented with laboratory experiments.
