Event Marketing and Social Media

Students will consider the marketing decisions that event planners and managers face in a fast paced, social media driven event industry. Through marketing strategies and practices, segmentation and target marketing, positions and branding, pricing, promotions, personal selling and distribution, students will learn how to generate and sustain demand for their events. Students will focus on the use of interactive technologies as a vehicle for advertising, marketing and communication with particular attention to online presence, social media and multimedia tools.
