Description: This is an introductory course on international development, examining its history and theoretical and practical approaches. The course provides students with a geopolitical understanding and critical thinking of past and current academic discourses and policy approaches to international development from an interdisciplinary and multi-sectoral perspective. Specific case studies around the world and field trips to local development organizations will help students gain perspectives on the link between theory and practice of this field.
