Lab hours per week2
Course AvailabilityOpen
Description
Having learned about selecting the pneumatic components used in industries around the world in ROBO-122, this course will teach the student how pneumatic devices are controlled. The student will investigate the operation and design of industrial pneumatic control circuitry. Control systems will be designed using both pneumatic pilot circuitry and electrical relay control. Procedures will be developed to create standardized sequential circuits that can be easy to build and troubleshoot. Manual, automatic, emergency and safety controls will be designed to produce safe, efficient operation of automated machinery. Methods learned in this class are easily transferable to other types of actuators, such as hydraulic or electrical systems.
