Description: This course is designed to provide the student with a thorough understanding of the Child and Youth Worker Program's Field Placement Evaluation Manual, including all the skills required for graduation and the policies and procedures which govern his/her behaviours and performance throughout the three different placement experiences. Examples of these include the supervision and evaluation process, reporting child abuse, dealing with harassment, and the field work complaint procedure. The student will also be provided with the guidelines and processes for the Field Placement Selection Procedure, the interview process, and an in-depth orientation to placement opportunities including; school based programs, residential care and treatment, hospital/crisis units, family work, day treatment, young offender programs, and other various community based programs. Minimum 'C' Grade
