Description: This course examines the creative, organizational, and managerial roles of the producer in the making of tv shows and feature films. Aimed at producers and non-producers alike, the course pays particular attention to the production problems future working directors and writers are likely to face. Students will receive practical instruction in the step-by-step realization of a television show or a feature film and learn how to identify budgetary and logistical requirements in all areas of production, from developing a “production-ready” screenplay through to final delivery. Ultimately students will develop an understanding of what everybody on a production does, a respect for what those people do and an ability to support them while they are doing it.
