Sculpture 1: The Human Figure

Description
The primary goal of this course in 3D modeling from the human figure is on the development of anatomical knowledge, structural understanding, and volumetric form in order to support figure drawing and painting. Using plastilena and modeling wax, students will undertake various small-scale exercises in additive modeling that will include simplified structural conceptions as well as traditional fine art approaches with emphasis on accuracy in proportions and relationships. A variety of delivery techniques including class lectures on basic anatomy, discussions on modeling approaches and techniques, demonstrations and one-on-one instruction, will be used.
