Course AvailabilityOpen
Description
The emphasis of this intermediate level course in modeling from the human figure is on the development of an in-depth understanding of anatomy in order to support figure drawing and painting. Working with plastilena from the skeleton, Old Master drawings, muscle charts, and the live model, students will construct a small-scale ècorchè - an anatomical model of the flayed figure. This process involves the building of a skeleton in plastilena, onto which is attached first the deep and then the surface muscles of the body.
