|Lab hours per week|
|Description:||Enterprises tend to have complex distributed IT systems and therefore to face an ongoing challenge of integrating heterogeneous elements in their IT infrastructure. This course discusses building large scale enterprise applications using Java Enterprise Edition.
This course focuses on application design and implementing design patterns in Java and related technologies. It teaches implementing core business functionality with Enterprise Java Beans (EJBs), building a persistence layer between the application and a database using the Java Persistence Architecture (JPA), and providing distributed through Web applications, message-oriented middleware, and Web services.
Several hands-on exercises use a Java-based integrated development environment to create components suitable for installation on a Java EE-compliant application server.
