Course Code GNED-139
Lecture hours per week 3
Lab hours per week
Course Availability: Open
Description: This course presents a critical examination at the concept of health and illness in a culturally diverse world. While a cultural understanding of health and illness is important, it is equally critical for students to develop an understanding of the social determinants of health, their stressors, and how they inform health/illness. Learners’ concept of health will be transformed through reflective practice, critical thinking, research and analysis, which in turn will help students develop strategies to improve social determinants of health.
