Description

UNIX is a popular operating system developed at Bell Labs in the early 1970s. Linux is a low-cost UNIX-like operating system that is becoming an alternative to the Microsoft operating systems. This course is an introduction to UNIX using Linux. It emphasizes aspects of the operating system that are unique to UNIX, and / or are very useful in the computer field. Students will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in the classroom / laboratory setting.
