We’re living in a globalized world, which is why Centennial College’s education aims to turn students into responsible global citizens. That’s why Centennial College developed the Signature Learning Experience (SLE), focusing on global citizenship, equity, and inclusion.  We’ve incorporated the SLE into all areas of academic and college life, and established ourselves as an activist college.

One of the key initiatives of the SLE is our General Education course, Global Citizenship: From Social Analysis to Social Action (GNED 500), for which this textbook is written. This book, along with the course, helps provide students with the skills, knowledge and education that will allow them to achieve a greater global consciousness and to strive towards change.
