Sheila Draycott State of the College Address and President's Spirit Awards 2017
Sheila Draycott – President’s Spirit Award (Individual)
Sheila Draycott, student liaison of the General Arts and Science, School of Advancement is credited with developing and implementing a process to identify at-risk students and collaborating with students and faculty to develop an academic recovery plan that has resulted in a 98 per cent completion rate in the PreHealth Program. When Sheila noticed that 25 per cent of PreHealth students found math to be challenging, she encouraged the Learning Centre to offer Math Learning Circles specifically for PreHealth students. Today, 70 per cent of our students who participated in those circles continue to achieve high grades. The President's Spirit Award was presented to the Sheila on May 11, 2017 at Morningside Campus.
