Stephanie began her career as a part time Recreation Leader / Summer Camp Counsellor for the City of Kitchener in 1995. After completing her post-secondary education in Sociology and Recreation and Leisure Services, she became the Recreation Coordinator for the YMCA of Hamilton-Burlington-Brantford. During her time with the YMCA, Stephanie formed a partnership with Brantford General Hospital and created an innovative recreation-based rehab program for individuals recovering from substance abuse, and fitness programs for individuals with exceptionalities. From there, Stephanie landed a Recreation Coordinator role with the City of Burlington, where she secured approximately one-hundred thousand dollars in grant funding to start the inaugural camp for youth with severe behavioural challenges living within Halton Region. At the height of her career, Stephanie had the pleasure of landing a Coordinator role with the Federal Government - Department of National Defence, where she was responsible for all recreational activity for military personnel within Southwestern Ontario.
Teaching has become the newest passion for Stephanie, as she has enjoyed passing a wealth of knowledge and experience to students since 2018. Stephanie is also a lifelong learner and is currently completing her Masters (MA), with the goal of completing her PhD in Health Sciences in the future.
