As a Gemini nominee, Andrée Cazabon's films have amassed over 1 million viewers on CBC-Newsworld, TVA, Canal D, Radio-Canada, and CBC Television. Her works have been prominently featured at an array of prestigious film festivals. Her documentaries, Wards of the Crown and Family on the Edge, each received 'Best Social-Political Documentary' prize at the Golden Sheaf Awards and her first documentary, No Quick Fix was nominated for 'Best Documentary' at the Gemini Awards in 2000.
2018 marks the eleventh year of her professional and personal commitment to reconciliation with Indigenous People since her recent documentary, 3rd World Canada, filmed in a remote First Nations reserve. In January 2018 Rideau Hall awarded her the Meritorious Service Cross (M.S.C.), the highest civilian order for service for the social impact of her films and her commitment to volunteering. The Lieutenant Governor awarded Andrée Cazabon in 20014 for her service to Ontario and the Royal family (the Countess of Wessex) through her volunteer work in remote First Nations communities.
Andrée Cazabon is a member of the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television and the Documentary Organization of Canada.
