Centennial College's Tourism - Travel Services Management program is ideal for those who possess genuine interest towards travel, exploration and adventure. The comprehensive two-year program is designed to develop necessary supervisory and management skills in students which are essential to launch a career in this sector. This program follows a project driven teaching method, which makes the learning experience more attractive and efficient. In addition, the program also offers several local and international field trips. These trips provide the students with hands-on experiences in a variety of tourism and travel adventures, helping them to better prepare for this dynamic industry.

The travel and tourism industry continues to be one of the largest and fastest growing sectors of the Canadian economy. Worldwide, travel and tourism is booming. Based on the data reported by the World Tourism Organization, it is estimated that international tourist arrivals (overnight visitors) worldwide increased 7% in 2017 to reach a total of 1,322 million. This strong momentum is expected to continue in 2018 at a rate of 4%-5%. Canada stands to benefit from this encouraging global trend. The country has started to experience tremendous growth in international tourist arrivals in the recent years. In 2015, the number of international visitors to Canada grew by 7.5 per cent to reach 17.8 million and in the subsequent year, it welcomed almost 20 million tourists, a further increase of 11 per cent. This means that the world has taken notice of Canada.

One in 11 Canadian jobs—more than 1.7 million—depends on the tourist economy. However, the potential supply of labour in the tourism sector is projected to grow slower, creating a potential shortage of up to 42,000 people by 2025. These labour shortages undermine Canada's global competitiveness and industry is in urgent need of qualified professionals with the necessary qualifications and experience to lead the industry forward. Professionals are thus, being recruited in full swing to fill entry-level to mid-level jobs as well as management positions, throughout the country to service local, domestic and international guests. The timing is perfect for young graduates to take the market by storm and make a mark in the industry.

Graduates from Centennial College's Tourism - Travel Services Management program find employment as tour escort, travel counsellor, cruise and resort activities director, passenger service agent, airport concierge, visitor information counsellor and so on. Students enrolled in the course also have an excellent opportunity to obtain the Innovative Industry Training and Awareness certification that equips students with crucial knowledge to become leaders and contribute to the evolution of safe work environments at workplace.

With this program, you can take your skills in a number of directions, from management and administration to outdoor adventure and more. Learn the dynamics of the industry with experiences that go far beyond the classroom. For more info, please visit our Tourism - Travel Services Management program.
