1. What are the benefits of working for your company as a summer student? What type of unique experience can a student gain from working for you?
Answer: "The Seasonal Student Direct Support Professional is a student that is currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a human services field educational program. They provide services to the people supported by Christian Horizons in the absence of the regularly scheduled Direct Support Professional. The Seasonal Student Direct Support Professional assists with activities of daily living and promotes the implementation of person centered plans. They work in cooperation with their work team and completes administrative duties as assigned. They seek to promote Christian Horizons’ Service Principles by enhancing relationships, promoting citizenship, valuing people’s gifts, recognizing self-determination, encouraging growth and development, and recognizing the need for holistic supports in a manner that considers each person’s intrinsic value."

3. What additional information can you provide about the summer job postings you have advertised with Centennial College?
Answer: "We are looking for students who have a passion for working in the field of Developmental Services. Ideal qualities would include the ability to take initiative, time management and strong communication skills."
4. Can summer students continue working part time with your organization during the school year?
Answer: "We encourage summer students to apply to any postings that interest them. For example, if a summer student wanted to continue working as a Part-Time employee during the school year they would apply and interview for the position."
