Inclusion and Exclusion Criteria

Inclusion and Exclusion Criteria

Students, staff and community members can visit the Progress Campus telemedicine clinics to videoconference with a doctor about a wide array medical conditions, but there are some exclusions. Before you visit, please review the inclusion and exclusion criteria below to ensure the medical team can help you. 

Inclusion Criteria (When you can visit Centennial's telemedicine clinic)

  • Allergy symptoms of nose and eyes
  • Blood glucose check
  • Blood pressure check
  • Bug bites, Poison Ivy, eczema, psoriasis or mild sunburn
  • Cold sores or cankers on face, mouth or lips (non-genital)
  • Cold, upper respiratory infection, sore throat or flu-like symptoms
  • Diarrhea
  • Ear infection, earache or swimmer's ear, hearing tests
  • Eye infection, pinkeye or styes
  • Female urinary tract infection
  • Head lice
  • Infected toenail or fingernail
  • Medication renewal (no controlled or addictive substances)
  • Minor burns
  • Minor rashes (e.g. Impetigo, Shingles, Ringworm)
  • Newly onset cough
  • Pregnancy test, birth control renewal, birth control advice or
  • IUD Prescription
  • Referral to specialist or allied health professional (e.g.
  • massage therapy, physiotherapy)
  • Sinus infection or sinusitis
  • Test results
  • Work note or medical certificate

Exclusion Criteria (What is not part of telemedicine)

  • No narcotic or controlled substance renewal or prescription
  • No abdominal pain
  • No chest pain
  • No pelvic/genital/rectal/breast exams
  • No suturing
  • No emergency symptoms including:
    • Chest pain
    • Shortness of breath
    • Allergic reaction
    • Choking
    • Altered state of consciousness
    • Head or neck injury
  • No children under 4 years of age
  • No psychiatric matters
