Centennial College wants all international students to feel welcome and comfortable in their new home away from home. There are many options available to students, including Centennial Residence or living off campus with other students or on your own.
Many places, like the Residence, ask for money in advance such as a deposit. Please take the time to read your housing contract carefully to ensure you are meeting the contract requirements in a timely manner. You should have your accommodation arranged prior to arrival, which means all required fees are paid and you have received confirmation. Be sure to visit our Housing Tips page for some important information to get you started.
Know your rights
Your landlord must have a legal reason to evict you and to do so it must be listed in the Residential Tenancies Act.
If you are renting and live off-campus, you have tenant rights
You cannot be asked to move out of your rental unit based on any form of discrimination, including health or illness concerns from your landlord. For more information visit the Renting in Ontario: Your rights page for more information.
For more information about what you need to know as a tenant please visit Community Legal Education Ontario.
