Arctic Song: Revitalizing Inuit Drum Songs

On Friday, October 4, Centennial College faculty, staff and students have an opportunity to be part of a new generation honouring the Inuit drum songs of Canada’s Arctic. An ensemble of Inuit musicians are showcasing a vibrant revitalization of ancient Inuit drum songs that were once banned during colonization.

Arctic Song is a musical extravaganza that features an ensemble of Nunavut’s finest musicians performing traditional Inuit Throat Songs and Drum Dance. After the performance, you can take part in a Q&A, moderated by Chair Laura Arndt.
