The Applied Research and Innovation Centre (ARIC) at Centennial College invites everyone with a passion for learning and discovery to find ways to take ideas to the marketplace.

Your ideas may come from a classroom, a lab or a business need.  ARIC can help to forge the partnerships and map the steps leading to a commercial result – a technology solution for a product, process or service.

From inspiration to innovation to market success.

ARIC welcomes all participants on this journey, offering know-how and experience in technology transfer and the commercialization of applied research.

Partnerships and Projects

Collaboration with partners on joint projects is a key driver of success.  ARIC helps to create the best team and infrastructure to carry a project to completion.  Centennial’s faculty, staff and students team with businesses to share expertise in specialized fields.  Lab facilities may be offered as well, say for  designing or testing a prototype.

Industry sectors for recently completed and ongoing collaborative projects are

  • Sustainable energy and environmental sciences;
  • ICT wireless networking, digital media and technology;
  • Aviation and aerospace;
  • Community, health and life sciences and related technologies;
  • Business and entrepreneurship;
  • Children’s entertainment media;
  • Hospitality and culinary science; and
  • Global citizenship and equity.

These joint projects with industry partners are largely supported by both Federal Government and Ontario Government funding.  Significant funding also comes from Centennial’s ARIC Fellowships.
