Transfer Credit Application for Domestic and International Students
This page provides information on Transfer Credit, which refers to the transfer of courses completed at other recognized post-secondary institutions into Centennial College. Depending on your situation, you may instead be interested in:
- Transferring between Centennial programs: Courses transferred between Centennial programs are processed as "Equivalent/Substitute Credit," not transfer credit. For more details, contact your new program's coordinator.
- Transferring from another postsecondary institution to Centennial: To determine if the program you attended at another recognized postsecondary institution has a transfer agreement with a Centennial program, refer to our pathways database. The number of courses recognized will vary by agreement. Please note that you may need to apply for additional transfer credits even after transferring into Centennial.
Centennial College's online Recognition of Prior Learning System allows you to apply for Transfer Credit online. Credits are not automatically granted; you MUST apply through myCentennial.
- It is recommended that you apply for all transfer credits at the beginning of your program, though you are welcome to apply any time prior to semesterly deadlines.
- For transfer credit criteria, see "What requirements should a course meet to qualify for transfer credit?" (documentation, time limits, grade requirements, class hour requirements, content commonality, etc.).
- When requesting 2 Centennial courses using 1 external course, total contact hours must be at least 80% of the combined Centennial hours.
Should you have program-specific questions, it's a good idea to speak with your school advisor or program coordinator to receive program-specific transfer credit advising. If you are unable to apply for transfer credit, please consider PLAR.
Note: Please be advised, during the summer there is a longer than usual turnaround time for transfer credits.
