About Centennial
Established as Toronto's first public college in 1966, Centennial College offers programs in business, communications, community and health studies, science and engineering technology, general arts, hospitality and transportation.

Our Journalism (three-year) program is designed for high school graduates and takes you from the classroom, to a newsroom, to a full-time industry field placement preparing you for a new career.

From covering breaking news to exploring human interest stories,  journalists report events, interview the newsmakers, and examine the issues of our times. Journalism is an exciting and fast paced career focused on interesting people, places and stories.

In This Program:

You’ll apply your skills in a newsroom writing for a community newspaper and an online publication, making you versatile, prepared and experienced for the workplace as soon as you graduate.

You’ll cover a variety of topics while developing the critical foundation skills you’ll need for a new career as a reporter, editor or broadcaster and beyond.

Graduates work with local, national and international news outlets including newspapers, magazines, TV, radio, online and media relations firms. We also offer a Fast Track program for College and University graduates. For a program overview, see Fast Facts.
