Sections full of questions in your Question Library (as well as all the questions in its root directory) will migrate as Question Banks within your Luminate course. Note that Luminate does not allow "nesting" of Question Banks, as eCentennial does with Sections in the Question Library. This means that the organization of your migrated Question Banks will be "flattened" - all the various converted Questions Banks will be displayed together and not inside of one another if that was the structure of your Sections in the Question Library.

Images embedded in your questions may be broken post-migration, so you will want to download them in case they need to be re-embedded into the questions within your converted Tests.

Multi-Short Answer and Ordering type questions do not migrate to Luminate. You will want to recreate Multi-Short Answer as Fill in the Blank questions, and Ordering as Matching questions in eCentennial so that they migrate to Luminate.

Make note of questions with multiple correct answers, such as Multi-Select and Matching, as you will need to use the “Allow Partial and Negative Credit” options in Luminate Tests to setup scoring for these.

For Arithmetic and Significant Figure type questions, be sure to record the following:

Question Text

Formula

Variables (Name, Mix, Max, Decimal Places, Step)

Precision

Tolerance

Units

While these question types do transfer, they are broken post-migration and will likely need to be deleted and recreated.

Tests have no equivalent element to the Sections available in quizzes. Instead, sections on a quiz become Question Pools on a test in Luminate post-migration.

If you have a Question Pool(s) that are contained within a Section(s) on your quiz, you will need to move them out of those Sections and ensure they are on the root level of the quiz. If Question Pools are left within Sections, they will not to migrate into Luminate, since Luminate doesn't allow for Question Pools within Question Pools.

Record any Section Text, which will not transfer post-migration, so that it can be re-entered in your Luminate Test via the "Add Text" element.

Record point values for questions and Question Pools, as they may need to be adjusted on your Tests in Luminate post-migration.

Record the specifics of any Submissions Views used in your Quizzes, as they will need to be recreated for your Tests in Luminate post-migration.
