Sections containing questions in the Question Library (as well as all the questions in the "Collection Root") are converted to Question Banks in Blackboard post-migration. However, unlike eCentennial which allowed for the nesting of Sections within other Sections in the Question Library, Question Banks do not allow for that sort of organization. As such, your Question Library Sections will be "flattened" post-migration, meaning every Section that contained questions will be its own Question Bank in your Blackboard course.

Questions from Question Banks that are added into a Test via the Question Pool functionality will be linked to the version in the Question Banks, meaning changes to those questions in the Question Banks will affect the versions used on the Test's Question Pool and vice versa. Questions from the Question Banks that are added on to a Test via the Reuse Question function will NOT be linked to the versions in the Question Banks, and changes on one will not affect the other.

Multi-Select questions get converted into Multiple Choice questions with multiple correct answers, as Blackboard combines Multiple Choice and Multi-Select into one question type.

Short Answer questions will be converted into Fill-in-the-Blank questions post-migration. The blank for this question will be inserted at the end of the question text automatically, and will need to be moved and integrated into the question text.

Any Multi-Short Answer or Ordering type questions will be missing post-migration. If you did not recreate these questions as Fill-in-the-Blank and Matching type questions (respectively) before your course was migrated to Blackboard, you will want to recreate them as these question types in your Blackboard course now.

While Arithmetic and Significant Figures type questions will transfer to Blackboard as Calculation type questions, they may not function exactly as expected and may require changes.

Use the “Allow Partial and Negative Credit” options in Blackboard tests to setup scoring for questions with multiple correct answers, such as Multiple Choice, Matching, Fill-in-the-Blank, etc. as the "Grading" options for these questions (i.e., Equally Weighted, All or Nothing, Right Minus Wrong) do not transfer post-migration.

The order of the questions in your quiz may have become jumbled post-conversion to a Blackboard test. You will want to review your converted tests and drag-and-drop questions into their appropriate position.

If your quizzes in eCentennial contained question pools, these will transfer over to your tests in Blackboard, with settings like the number of questions to be presented and the point value for each question being maintained.

If your quiz in eCentennial contained sections, upon conversion to a test in Blackboard these will be converted into:

Question pools, if the questions existed originally in the Question Library. Sections that were converted into question pools will have a default value of 0 points per question, and will select only 1 question from the pool. You will want to either adjust these values, or delete the question pool that was created and re-add these questions via the "Reuse Questions" option.

A series of questions on the test, if the questions didn't originally exist in the Question Library.

If you sections contained "Section Text" which was important to the completion of questions within that section, it will unfortunately not transfer upon conversion into a Blackboard test. You will want to re-add such text using the "Add Text" option.

Recreate any of your quizzes' "Submissions Views" under the "Assessment Results" settings in your converted Blackboard tests.

The "Auto-Publish Attempt" quiz setting does not transfer. Manually checking on this option (called “Post assessment grades automatically” in Blackboard) will be required for each test.

Passwords that govern quiz access for students do not transfer. The "Access Code" option in Blackboard tests replaces this functionality and can be configured post-migration.

Settings for Respondus Lockdown Browser and Respondus Monitor do not transfer and will need to be reconfigured using the "Assessment Security" settings in your Blackboard tests.
