The eCentennial Basics and Beyond Certificate program will familiarize you with eCentennial features and functions for creating rich and dynamic technology-enhanced, blended, flipped, or online courses. This program will provide you with opportunities to explore and engage with eCentennial tools. You will take away tangible resources that you can use in your classrooms right away to create engaging, collaborative, and personalized learning experiences. You will earn a badge for each module that you complete and a Certificate for completing all eight modules.
Modules of Basics and Beyond are:
- MODULE 1 - DESIGN EFFECTIVE AND INCLUSIVE COURSES
Design effective web-enhanced, flipped, blended, or online course content to create inclusive learning for all. - MODULE 2 - TRACK STUDENT PROGRESS WITH GRADES
Create and manage an online grade book to keep track of students’ progress throughout your course(s). - MODULE 3 - MANAGE ONLINE ASSIGNMENT SUBMISSIONS
Manage online assignment submissions and create evaluation tools to increase grading efficiency. - MODULE 4 - EVALUATE ONLINE ASSIGNMENT SUBMISSIONS
Prerequisite - You must complete Module 3 prior to registering for Module 4.
Use online grading tools to assess student work effectively, check for originality and provide personalized feedback. - MODULE 5 - IMPROVE LEARNING WITH QUIZZES
Go paperless with online quizzes/tests while maintaining academic integrity. Learn about publisher test bank integration and how you can use the Quizzes tool to create formative assessments that improve student learning. - MODULE 6 - SUPPORT LEARNER SUCCESS
Guide learners toward success by helping them stay focused and connect with the course content, their peers, and you. - MODULE 7 - CREATE COLLABORATIVE LEARNING SPACES
Create online spaces for students to collaborate with their peers asynchronously or synchronously. Encouraging students to reach out to each other to solve problems and share knowledge builds collaborative skills and leads to deeper learning. - MODULE 8 - RECOGNIZE ACHIEVEMENT AND INCREASE STUDENT RETENTION
Create a fun way for students to gain recognition for completing activities, participation and learning by awarding badges. This will also allow you to document student learning that represent important skills that have (or have not) been learned or learning objectives/outcomes that have (or have not) been met. Consequently, badges can improve learner retention and reduce attrition by encouraging learners along the way and rewarding previous learning.
All modules will be fully online and supported by the CFDTI Learning Technology Specialists.
