The Leadership and Inclusion Certificate Program begins with the CCLI 100 course. CCLI 100 is offered three times a year, in the Fall, Winter and Spring/Summer.
Each course is 7.5 weeks in length. To complete the four courses in the certificate program, you will need to commit a total of 30 weeks.
You will need to devote approximately four hours per week to complete course requirements.
Yes. There are generally two assignments and three online discussions per course. The assignments are designed to be manageable within the recommended four hours per week.
Yes - When you successfully complete all four courses will earn a Centennial College Certificate in Leadership and Inclusion. Students who complete the certificate will be eligible to participate in the Centennial College convocation.
Recommended that you take the courses in order of sequence - CCLI 100, then CCLI 200, CCLI300 and CCLI400. This is strongly advised because the courses build on each other.
Yes. There are two textbooks. The first is The Inclusion Dividend by Mark Kaplan and Mason Donovan, which costs about $40. The second, The Diversity and Inclusion Handbook by Sondra Thiederman, is required for course CCLI 200 and costs about $15. Both books are readily available from online book retailers and bookstores.

Dr. Richard Williamson – Richard brings over 30 years of teaching, publishing, and leadership experience to the role of Lead for the Leadership and Inclusion Certificate Program. Richard completed his doctoral studies in education (Leadership) while working in the leadership development field for one of Ontario’s largest school boards. Richard also wrote and now teaches Centennial College’s Inclusive Leadership Practices certificate program.
Professor Aly Virji – Aly is the Vice-President of People, Equity, and Culture at a tech start-up in Toronto. Aly has several years of experience teaching college and university-level courses in Leadership, Communication, and Human Resources. As a leadership coach and consultant Aly delivers corporate training on, Inclusive Leadership, Managing Mental Health in the Workplace, and Implicit Bias in Professional Decision Making. Aly has a master’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration and undergraduate degrees in both Kinesiology and Adult Education. Aly is a proud graduate of the Centennial College Leadership and Inclusion program and was in the first-ever cohort accredited with the Canadian Certified Inclusion Professional (CCIP) designation in 2018.
Cathy Gallagher – Louisy has been working in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) for over 16 years. Currently, Cathy has several part-time jobs in the DEI space: consultant, educator, and volunteer. As the President of CGL Consulting she offers a range of DEI learning, coaching, and strategic planning services. As an educator, she serves as a Professor at the Centennial College Certificate in Leadership and Inclusion, a Faculty Member at the University of Toronto’s Corporate Social Responsibility & Sustainability Graduate Diploma, and a member of the Program Advisory Committee and guest lecturer for the George Brown College DEI in the Workplace Program. As a volunteer, Cathy is one of 8 Canadians on the global group of Expert Panelists who create the Global Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Benchmarks.

The online learning environment is completely asynchronous. Asynchronous learning allows participants to log in to the learning platform (eCentennial) at any time to participate in the learning activities of the week. Each course is provided in an asynchronous format so that participants can work at their own pace and at their own time.
Most courses cost $510 each (including HST), with one of the courses costing $530. The total cost of the certificate program is $2060 plus the cost of the textbooks.
No, there are no admission criteria. However, the program is intended for people who are in leadership and management roles, aspire to leadership or management roles, are newly-placed in leadership or management positions, or who have an interest in or responsibility for issues related to diversity, equity and inclusion.

The natural next step after completing the certificate program is to become a Canadian Certified Inclusion Professional (CCIP™). CCIP is a professional designation for Diversity and Inclusion practitioners that will allow you to boost your career and become even more competitive in a tough job market. The CCLI Certificate has already provided you with a robust foundational knowledge around Diversity and Inclusion. If you have three or more years of experience in the Diversity and Inclusion field, you are eligible to apply and become a Canadian Certified Inclusion Professional (CCIP™).
