Human Rights Policy Launch

Date:
Venue:In person: Spring/Summer Room, Event Centre, Progress Campus | Online: Zoom

Advancing its commitment to creating environments free from harassment and discrimination, in 2023, Centennial College conducted a review of its harassment and discrimination infrastructure.

Through engagement with the College community, a new harassment and human rights infrastructure was developed, including a new Human Rights Policy. Effective January 1, 2024, the Human Rights Policy applies to incidents of harassment and discrimination involving members of the Centennial college community and related to prohibited grounds under the Ontario Human Rights Code. It is overseen by the Human Rights and Conflict Resolution Department (HRCRD), housed within the Innovation, Inclusion, Reconciliation and Healing (IIRH) portfolio.

To enhance awareness of Centennial College’s new Human Rights Policy, HRCRD invites all Centennial College employees and students to an engaging launch event on Wednesday February 21, 2024. During the event, attendees will deepen their knowledge on human rights and the importance of human rights compliance in creating safe, equitable, healthy, and respectful learning, working, and living environments. They will also strengthen their understanding of the new Human Rights Policy, including its purpose and scope as well as how it applies to various employee roles across the College.

Options for in-person and virtual attendance are available. Light refreshments will be served to those attending in person.
