Small, medium and large employers across Ontario can now apply for the Canada-Ontario Job Grant to help subsidize skills training for new and existing employees. The grant can cover portions of the cost of training, making it an opportune time to invest in new skills and new employees. And Centennial College can help.
The Job Grant will provide direct financial support to employers who wish to purchase training for their employees. It is available to businesses with a plan to deliver short-term training to existing and new employees, and will:
- provide up to $10,000 in government support per person for training costs;
- employers with 100 or more employees need to contribute 1/2 of the training costs. Small employers with less than 100 employees need to contribute 1/6 of training costs.
- require training to be delivered by an eligible, third-party trainer – such as Centennial College.
Centennial has been serving the east end of the GTA for almost 50 years. We have programs in everything from aircraft maintenance to food service to engineering technology – more than 250 full-time programs in all.
Part-time certificates include human resources, hotel management, heavy-duty equipment maintenance, network technology and more. Centennial College can also create customized training to fit your organization’s specific needs in such areas as automation, health care services, energy systems and much more. Talk to us!
If you're an employer with a particular skills demand, the Canada-Ontario Job Grant may be right for you. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis.
