Communities of Practice

Our Communities of Practice provide faculty with dedicated spaces to engage in meaningful discussions, share knowledge, and deepen their understanding of Indigenous pedagogies and Reconciliation in post-secondary education. Both communities meet once a month and offer opportunities for learning, collaboration, and mentorship.
The Indigenous Community of Practice is an exclusive space for Indigenous faculty to connect, share knowledge, pedagogies, and research methods, and support one another in their academic and professional journeys. This community fosters collaboration and strengthens Indigenous presence within the institution by centering Indigenous ways of knowing, being, and doing in teaching and research.
The Reconciliation Community of Practice is open to both Indigenous and non-Indigenous faculty who are committed to advancing Reconciliation within the college. This community focuses on embedding Indigenous perspectives in curriculum, fostering respectful engagement with Indigenous Knowledges, and supporting institutional change. Members explore strategies for decolonizing teaching and learning, building meaningful relationships, and ensuring Reconciliation efforts are intentional, sustained, and accountable.
Both communities offer a supportive environment for faculty to engage, learn, and contribute to meaningful change within the institution.
