Cecil Roach was appointed by the Board in 2023. He recently retired from his role as an Associate Director of Education at York Region District School Board, where he proudly and profoundly impacted young people's lives. Mr. Roach is a founding member of the Alliance of Educators for Black Students, an organization of York Region educators and community members dedicated to the academic achievement and well-being of students of African heritage. He previously served as Coordinating Superintendent for the York Region District School Board. Cecil is a member of the Board’s Learning and Employment Committee.
