The Honourable John McKay, P.C., was appointed to the Centennial Board in September 2025. An accomplished parliamentarian, he served nine terms as the Member of Parliament for Scarborough–Guildwood, where he was a prominent advocate for human rights, supply chain slavery, and poverty alleviation. Throughout his distinguished parliamentary career, he held key roles including Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Finance, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Defence, and Chair of the House Committee on National Defence. He also served as Chair of the House Committee on Public Safety, Co-Chair of the Canada–U.S. Defence Board, and Co-Chair of the Canada-United States Inter-Parliamentary Group (CEUS). Mr. McKay was the architect of groundbreaking legislation addressing modern slavery and reforming Canada’s foreign aid. Currently, as a senior associate at David Pratt & Associates, he offers strategic guidance on government relations in defence and security matters. At Centennial College, John is a member of the Board’s Audit and Risk Management Committee.
