Laura Arndt was appointed LGIC Governor in 2023. She is a Centennial Alumni and former Chair within the School of Advancement. Laura is the Secretariat Lead/Executive Director of the Survivors’ Secretariat, leading the work on unmarked burials at the Mohawk Institute, Indian Residential School – the oldest and longest-running Indian Residential School in Canada. She has worked with provincial and federal governments, First Nations communities and leadership as an advocate for underrepresented and marginalized groups. Laura has 30 years of progressive program and policy experience with provincial and federal bodies tied to cross-jurisdictional issues. Laura is a member of the Board’s Governance, People and Equity Committee.
