Nevine Yassa

Board Member

Nevine Yassa was appointed LGIC governor in 2024. An educator and non-profit leader, she holds a Master of Education from Lakehead University and a Bachelor of Education from Queen’s University. She also completed Harvard Business School’s Negotiation & Leadership course. Nevine co-instructed a service-learning course at the University of Windsor and is an educator for the Toronto Public and Durham Catholic District School Boards. She has published in Research in Drama Education. She is the founder of ROOTA, a Canadian charity empowering communities through education. In 2024, she co-facilitated the UN Environment Program North America Cluster and presented at the World Literacy Symposium at Oxford University in England in 2023. Nevine is a member of the Governance, People, and Equity Committee.
