2nd Floor, A2-20
"The layout of this space is inspired by the feel of Kookum's Kitchen (Your grandma's kitchen), which is the place we all feel most at home," says Eladia Smoke, Lead Architect of Smoke Architecture. "It is modeled on the shape and activity patterns of a Haudenosaunee longhouse, with curved acoustic baffles that soften the edges of the ceiling and sound of people in the space. Like a longhouse, activities are along the edges, with touch-down desks along one side, and display cabinets either side of the columns to showcase artisanship and give glimpses of the outdoor courtyard for people along the corridor."
This office space hosts events and drop-in hours with coffee, tea and snacks for Indigenous students, staff and faculty, and also has a meeting room attached.
