Envisioning Black Futures

All Black employees and students, as well as allies who identify as racialized, are invited to an exciting consultation, Envisioning Black Futures. Participants will share their desires and visions to promote the ongoing work towards Black flourishing, anti-racism, institutional development and success at Centennial College.

The consultation will probe and explore participant views and interests in the following areas:

  • Willingness of Black-identified students and employees to continue playing a leadership role in the ongoing development of the College through an African diasporic lens;
  • Identifying different ways in which the collective voices of African diaspora students and employees may have the greatest impact on College development;
  • Design of the mandate and structure of a new college governance committee(s) centred around the aspirations of members of the African diaspora within the college and external community;
  • Strengths and lessons learned from the former Anti-Black Racism Task Force mandate, structure and practice.

Involving minimal time commitment, the consultation will be conducted through two short confidential surveys beginning in December and a single in-person event in January 2024.

Registration for Envisioning Black Futures is currently closed. If you wish to be involved, please email IIRH at iirh@centennialcollege.ca.

Members of the community continue to celebrate the progress made under the ABRTF Institutional Commitments, but there is much more work to do to create an inclusive and more innovative College.  We cannot do this work without your critical perspectives. Join us in the conversation!
