Patrizia, a Canadian dance artist, educator, and entrepreneur, is a passionate advocate for arts education. Her unwavering dedication to honing her craft and promoting the arts, mainly through education, has been a defining aspect of her life’s work. She holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Choreography from York University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance from Toronto Metropolitan University.
Patrizia is the founder and co-artistic director of Zdance Movement & Wellness Centre, established in 2017. She has been a faculty member at Centennial College since 2016, teaching and creating courses for jazz performance and technique, dance history, and career management. She has also taught at FASI Summer Intensive workshops at York University, worked as Carol Anderson’s teacher assistant at York University, and been on faculty at George Brown College.
As a dancer, Patrizia has worked with several renowned companies and choreographers, such as Cirque du Soleil (Delirium Tour), Mia Michaels (Delirium), Travis Wall (Bell Gala), Creativiva (Caribbean), Kafi Pierre (Toronto Jazz Festival), Cadence Contemporary Ballet (City Connect), Roberto Campanella (The Jazz Cracker), and Debra Brown (Pan Am).
Throughout her career, Patrizia has had the privilege of touring Brazil, the U.S., Europe, and the United Kingdom as a performer and choreographer. In addition, she has choreographed shows in Turks & Caicos with Creativiva Inc. Her international experience has not only broadened her artistic horizons but also enriched her understanding of diverse dance cultures.
Patrizia’s ultimate goal is to educate and inspire young dancers to meet their career goals. Her role as a mentor and educator is a testament to her commitment to the next generation of dancers, and she continues to guide and support them in their artistic journeys.
