With a background in classical music studies intersecting with her roots in gospel music, Stewart completed her M.A. in Ethnomusicology (York University, 2007), and has created a niche for herself that encompasses curriculum development, research, and course directorships in gospel music education and musicianship/aural skill development. Currently, Stewart keeps busy as a music professor at multiple post-secondary institutions in Toronto (York University, Humber Polytechnic, and Centennial College), while running her own music education/production business.
