Rachel Larabee

Program Coordinator and Faculty

Rachel Larabee is a Full Time Faculty member for the Community Development Work (CDW) Program. Passionate about social and environmental justice, Rachel engages students and communities in connection and transformative education that builds positive change. For the past 20 years Rachel has been utilizing experiential learning, creative inquiry, and community collaborative partnerships, in and outside of the classroom, to inspire critical thinking, personal meaning and place making community development work. Rachel’s professional development in the field began with her work as co-founder of a youth-led and international non-profit organization followed by her consulting work at Centennial, building Global Experience platforms and piloting the college's first Academic Upgrading for Indigenous Peoples in 2010. As Program Coordinator of Food Education at Evergreen Brick Works, Rachel cultivated her passion to raise awareness and support mobilization of sustainable food systems . Today she is a certified Embodied Awareness and Kundalini Yoga instructor. Rachel prides herself in bringing all dimensions of herself into the classroom to support a full human experience of wholistic learning and leadership development in post-secondary education.
