Michelle Bishop, RD, MSEd Michelle Bishop is a Registered Dietitian and Professor in the School of Community and Health Studies at Centennial College with over 20 years of progressive experience in clinical nutrition, healthcare leadership, and post-secondary education, with a specialized focus in long-term care and mental health settings.
She is committed to advancing professional competence and fostering interprofessional collaboration to enhance educational outcomes and promote student success. Michelle has led international experiential learning initiatives, notably co-organizing and facilitating a global engagement project in Morocco, where students from Nutrition and Food Service Management and Hospitality programs delivered community-based education on nutrition, health, and wellness to women and youth.
Demonstrating a strong commitment to lifelong learning, Michelle completed a Master of Education degree while working full-time and raising a family. She is a recipient of the Ontario Shores Employee Values in Action Award and the 3M Health Care Quality Team Award in recognition of her leadership and contributions to quality improvement in healthcare.
Her recent co-authored research on food insecurity within the post-secondary environment led to the implementation of targeted supports for students, reinforcing her dedication to health equity and evidence-informed practice. Michelle continues to be an advocate for improved health outcomes through nutrition education and the development of future healthcare professionals.
