Dr. Noor Jehan Kabani

Associate Dean

Noor Kabani, a neuroscientist specializing in brain plasticity and cognitive development, completed her undergraduate degree in human physiology from the University of Karachi and her doctorate from McGill University. Her research career includes positions at the Montreal Neurological Institute & Bloomfield Centre for Aging in Montreal and later at the Sunnybrook Health Science Centre and Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto. In these roles, she utilized medical imaging to investigate developmental and degenerative processes of the human brain. As an academic faculty and coordinator in colleges, medical schools and universities, Noor designed and delivered interdisciplinary courses spanning natural, social, and medical sciences for students and delivered hands-on workshops on brain biology, digital brain atlases, mental health, neuroscience of stress, and research ethics for public sector groups. With extensive experience as a scientist and faculty, Noor made a lateral move to program quality assurance and faculty development. In this capacity, Noor led comprehensive program reviews and served as the Director of Program Quality Assurance and Research Administration. She oversaw program consent renewals across multiple provinces and supported faculty in enhancing their scholarly contributions. Prior to joining Centennial College, Noor led the program standards updates across Ontario for the Ministry of Colleges, Universities, Research and Security. Over the course of her career, Noor has served on many committees, some of which include the George Brown College Board of Governors, Canadian Institute of Health Research-Institute of Aging Operating Grants, the College of Early Childhood Education-Standard of Practice Committee and Chair of Research Ethics Boards. In her current position as the Associate Dean, Noor looks forward to fostering an environment grounded in experiential learning and foundational skill development while creating pathways across the allied health sciences programs.
