Program Overview

Thank you for your interest in our Electrical Pre-Apprenticeship program. This program is funded by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development, and is pending approval.

Kick-start your career into the Electrical Industry through our Pre-Apprenticeship Program in Electrical Construction and Maintenance, complemented by an overview of refrigeration and air conditioning. Qualified electricians are in high demand, due to transitioning to clean energy sources , increased emphasis on efficient energy consumption, and a booming construction industry and skilled trade.

Our tuition-free program includes skills training and assistance finding a paid work placement with an employer. Course materials, including textbooks, safety equipment and toolkits, are provided free of cost (administration and ancillary fees may apply). This is your opportunity to start a rewarding career and in demand skilled trade!

Program includes:

  • Workplace communication skills targeted to these trades
  • Industry-specific job readiness skills
  • Up to $1,500 in supports are available for those who qualify
  • Assistance to search for a paid work placement
  • Electrician tools are provided

Safety training, sought out by industry employers will also be provided:

  • First Aid
  • Working at Heights
  • WHMIS
  • Logout/Tagout Procedures
  • Personal Protection Equipment: Work Boots, Hard Hat and eye protection

Program Schedule

16 weeks of full-time, in-school training followed by up to 12 weeks on the job.

Work Placement:

In conjunction with formal training, the participant will have an opportunity for 8–12-week paid placement in the industry. This is facilitated by a dedicated job developer and input by the students.
