Dr. Sattar Hussain received his Ph.D. from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University), Toronto, Canada in 2013, M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees from University of Baghdad, Baghdad, Iraq, 1983 and 1992, respectively. In 2016, he joined the Department of Information and Communication Engineering Technology (ICET), School of Engineering Technology and Applied Science (SETAS), Centennial College, Toronto, Canada as a Full-Time Faculty. Since 2009, he is teaching as a Part-Time Faculty at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Ryerson University, Toronto, Canada. He also served as a Full-Time Faculty at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Omar Al-Mukhtar University, Libya from 1995 to 2002. Dr. Hussain is IEEE Member and Registered Professional Engineer in the province of Ontario. He participated effectively in curriculum development and in meetings of Centennial Program Advisory Committee (PAC) to connect with experts from different industrial fields to maintain a close watch on trends in the industry to ensure the curriculum topics truly reflect the ever-growing digital industry.
His current research spans the broad area of wireless communications. Recently, he is focusing in Computer Networks, Wireless Networks (Wi Fi, Bluetooth, and Zigbee Networks), Networks Security, Embedded Wireless Systems, Wireless Sensors Networks, Cooperative Spectrum Sensing, Cognitive Radio Networks, Ad Hoc and Mesh Network, IoT Applications, Mobility in Wireless Networks, Channel Modeling, and Adaptive Signal Processing. He participated as a committee member in organizing INCF2009, IEEE-CCECE2014, IHTC2017 conferences. He won the 3rd best paper in IHTC2017 for a research in wireless body area networks. Dr. Hussain is a co-author of the Book “Cooperative Spectrum Sensing and Resource Allocation Strategies in Cognitive Radio Networks” and an author/co-author of more than 30 Journal and IEEE Conference papers.
