Modified Apprenticeships (MAPs)

Automotive


The Automotive Modified Apprenticeship Programs are four-week block offerings that will teach you the traditional apprenticeship in-school curriculum training. You will acquire all the skills to succeed as the program is divided between in-class lessons and on-the-job experience, you’ll alternate between the College and your dealer/employer for 64 weeks (32 weeks with each).  Apprentices need to have their OSSD or equivalent, be eligible to work in Canada, and obtain their Ontario apprenticeship.  International students cannot apply.

When you complete your in-school training, you'll earn a certificate. Applicants must be registered as an apprentice in order to be accepted.

Employers and Associations Participating in MAPs

Applicants must secure employment with the company/dealership and then register as MAP apprentices with the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training, and Skills Development.

Truck and Coach


The Truck and Coach Modified Apprenticeship Programs are 32 weeks offering that will teach you the traditional apprenticeship in-school curriculum training for truck and coach 310T.  Apprentices need to have their OSSD or equivalent, be eligible to work in Canada, and obtain their Ontario apprenticeship.  International students cannot apply.  After you apply, you will receive a letter and questionnaire, with instructions on how to request a program interview. Admission is on a first come first served basis for qualified applicants.

How to Apply

Applicants must apply online at ontariocolleges.ca. A non-refundable application fee of $125 must accompany applications. The fee is payable online, by telephone, online banking, by mail, or in-person to ontariocolleges.ca. For more information, go to ontariocolleges.ca/en/apply/application-fees.
