Faridah Nassali, MIA, LLM, LLB

Faculty

Faridah has a multidisciplinary background in Law, policy, and international development. She has solid experience in law, policy research, and human rights at an international and domestic level. After completing her LLB at Makerere University in Kampala, Faridah worked as a prosecutor with the government of Uganda while at the same time championing the cause of women who were victims of domestic violence in Uganda before pursuing graduate studies. Faridah joined Columbia University in New York, an Ivy League school where she majored in international affairs and policy studies. Upon completion of her graduate studies at Columbia University, she worked as a human rights Consultant with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) at its headquarters in New York. In that role, Faridah worked with leaders and influencers in fields of international development, social policy, and human rights around the world.

Faridah holds a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University, New York, USA, a Master of Laws from the University of Toronto, Canada, a Bachelor of Laws from Makerere University, Kampala Uganda, a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice/Bar Course from The Law Development Centre, Kampala Uganda, and a Project Management Certificate from Centennial College.

Faridah moved to Canada to pursue graduate studies in law from the University of Toronto and she has since worked in various capacities on human rights and social policy issues. Faridah is also a Centennial College graduate in the Project Management program. She joined the college as an instructor in January 2019 and she currently teaches Business Law and International Development. Faridah is interested in the intersection between law and policy (particularly social policy) as well as international development.
