Kaitlin holds a Bachelor of Science – Life Sciences from Queen’s University, a Bachelor of Physical Education from Queen’s University, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law.
Kaitlin summered and articled at Blake, Cassels and Graydon LLP where she worked in intellectual property, securities, and corporate law. Following articling Kaitlin was hired on full time as an associate in the Regulatory Group at Blakes, where her practice focused on advertising, privacy, access to information and regulatory law.
More recently Kaitlin worked as in-house corporate counsel at Sobeys where her practice focused on advertising, employment, corporate, litigation, and regulatory law. Kaitlin also worked as a Program Coordinator for the Law in Action Within Schools (LAWS) program based out of the University of Toronto Faculty of Law and Osgoode Hall Law School.
Since arriving at Centennial College Kaitlin has taught various courses in the Paralegal, Law Clerk and Court Support Programs. Kaitlin helped to launch the Centennial Legal Information Centre (CLIC), through which paralegal students provide legal information sessions and research to Centennial College students and the broader community. Kaitlin has also been actively involved in the Centennial College/OJEN Legal Symposium.
Kaitlin is committed to access to justice initiatives and believes in the importance of making legal information and resources accessible to marginalized communities. She has been involved in numerous volunteer initiatives over the years that further this commitment, including volunteering at community legal clinics, giving presentations on legal issues in the community, and mentoring youth who face barriers to success.
