Biography

Lucas engages his students using the Harvard Business School (HBS) Case Method of teaching, combined with relevant examples of current events from around the world. He was selected by Centennial College’s The Business School (TBS) to participate in a fully funded, in-person training at Harvard Business School (HBS). Lucas has collaborated with public and private organizations in diverse industries (automotive, cement, consulting, consumer packaging, fiber optic, healthcare, higher education, information technology, legal, nuclear, etc).

Collectively, Lucas has taught over 10,000 students (in-person, hybrid, online) at 10 colleges and 10 universities across Canada, who subsequently became accountants, actuaries, business executives, coaches, corporate trainers, data scientists, doctors, educators, engineers, entrepreneurs, financial analysts, human resources professionals, instructors, journalists, lawyers, marketers, mathematicians, nurses, pharmacists, professors, project directors, psychologists, quality specialists, statisticians, teachers, UX designers, website designers, writers, etc.

Lucas is a lifelong learner and a multidisciplinary educator who is passionate about teaching! He enjoys interacting, motivating and learning together with his students. Lucas studied in different graduate-level degree programs at the University of Toronto and holds over 35 professional certifications/designations in various disciplines/specializations from reputable institutions.

Lucas has led and/or participated in a wide range of initiatives for Centennial College’s The Business School (TBS). Sample initiatives: Led the 'Faculty Bios' initiative for the external website; Participated in the hiring process for new full-time and part-time faculty; Mentored new full-time and part-time faculty; Created brand new courses; Modernized and updated existing courses; Delivered workshops; Served as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) during in-person to online modality course conversions; Taught in multiple TBS programs via different modalities (in-person, hybrid, online); Contributed to Learning Management System (LMS) course conversions from D2L Brightspace to Anthology Blackboard; Participated in external volunteer activities; Mentored students preparing for external case competitions; Contributed to the weekend delivery model; Attended student-centered events (open houses, orientations, convocations, networking events, etc).
